As Textbook Boulangerie Patisserie just announced they’re making a blue croissant, I thought it was time to look back on their famous truffle croissant, that drove food bloggers and normal people alike quite mad.

Did you know that The Rocks Aroma Festival is on again on Sunday, July 24, 2016? It’s not just about that one day though – throughout the month of July there’s a whole lot of workshops that you can participate in all, of course, about coffee. There’s latte art, home brewing, coffee cocktails, and of course coffee cupping classes. I’m not much of a coffee drinker (I think copious amount of caffeine in my first year of university stuffed up my stomach a bit…) but I really wish I was able to drink it, and love anything that is made of coffee. So when the team at the Aroma Festival and Cardinal Spin invited me to come along to one of the Coffee Cupping Workshops, I eagerly went along, looking forward to learning more different coffee varietals and being able to spit out my coffee.

I don’t remember exactly where we heard about Industry Beans, but we heard it was good coffee, good food and a cool space, not to mention in the cool neighbourhood of Fitzroy, so we had to check it out.

(We also went to Kettle Black on our recent trip to Melbourne, if you’re interested!)

Our first breakfast was at The Kettle Black which has been on my list ever since S and I went to Top Paddock, the sister restaurant, on our Melbourne trip last year. And oh my, was it the most beautiful breakfast I’d ever eaten or what!

Our friend Kyle’s dad opened a cute little homely cafe in Stanmore called Percival Road, so we thought we’d head over and check it out! The food is classic breakfast items plus a few Middle Eastern/Spanish inspired dishes.

I can’t believe it’s been so long since DS and I were in Germany and I got to show him another one of my ‘homes’. It’s been nice going through photos of when we were there (especially all the places we ate at) and today I’m here to write about Hoog, a new restaurant in Keitum, Sylt (an island off the coast of Germany in the North Sea) in the new up-market resort Severin*s.

[PS: have you seen my Taste of Melbourne giveaway?! Only a few days left to enter – simply repost the photo on your Instagram account and #talkandspoonTOM for your chance to win 2 tickets to this epic restaurant festival!]
