Excited to share with you one of the most enjoyable meals I’ve had in a long time – at Saint Peter in Paddington. I do eat out quite a bit and mostly I come away from meals going, yeah, that was pretty good. But after dining at Saint Peter I was literally like – WOW! I can’t wait to go there again! Everything was so good!

Chiswick, in Woollahra, has not been empty a day since it opened over a year ago. It has become somewhat of a neighbourhood haunt for casual lunches with the Mother or nice birthday dinners with S and our parents. While I would really recommend booking, they do always keep a few tables for walk-ins, and with dinner serving from 5:30pm, it was another case of impromptu dinner with the Mother that brought us to Chiswick again.

To celebrate a special event, the Mother, DS and I thought we’d check out the Four in Hand Restaurant – a restaurant close enough to be considered in our neighbourhood. The minimally decorated dining room can be found adjoining the pub (which also has some great chow, I hear!) and presents a clean-cut, no-fuss kind of atmosphere. Overall, we had a good experience but it wasn’t quite what we expected. I didn’t realise the kitchen was quite as experimental…there were some flavour combinations I wasn’t sure I agreed with. No matter though, because this is a place that gets the basics right: straight-forward service, good and fresh produce and extra goodies like the amuse-bouche and complimentary petit fours.
